Joint Pain

It may seem odd to have an article on joint pain in general when there are articles on each individual joint and their pain and causes, or articles on osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, but it’s really not.

There are two factors that apply to nearly every joint pain problem.  These factors are not a disease or a condition but they are very important.

The first factor in joint pain is joint compression.  This is usually caused by myofascial restrictions that cross the joint.  This closes down or reduces the space that the joint has for it movement.  Then the joint will stop short of the full range it has and needs.  When this happens, the components of the joint rub when they should not.  Inflammation occurs and the pain increases, there is unusual wear and tear on the joint, then osteoarthritis.

Many times a simple start with joint compression leads to an eventual referral for joint replacement surgery.  This is the fastest growing surgery in the US.

No amount of medicine will stop the pain process if the joint compression is not relieved.  It cannot be relieved with exercise as that will just exacerbate the problem.  But it will respond to the ReCAPS System™.

The second factor in joint pain is improper gait (walking).  If the joint is not moving through its normal range soon it will not be able to move through its normal range.  One improperly moving joint will start to affect all the other joints.  And in no time at all there is a very complicated painful problem going on.

These two factors are involved in nearly every joint problem and they are there early when you have time to stop the problem.  Even if you have rheumatoid arthritis or some other disease, the pain will be greatly reduced by resolving these two factors.  They may seem minor but they are like the tropical wave that becomes a hurricane.
